The vanilla plantation on La Digue to the south of the Jetty is ten minutes by bicycle or twenty by Ox cart.
The plantation is part of the L'Union Estate where copra (coco nuts) are processed and also large quantities of vanilla vines are grown. The lady in blue was about eight and half months pregnant at the time.
