The Hotel Cafe des Arts is located on the beautiful 4 kilometre long Cote d'Or beach on the north side of the island of Praslin, Seychelles facing the tiny islands of Chauve Souris and St. Pierre. This stretch of beach offers safe swimming for all the family the whole year round.

Created by two well-known local Seychelles artists on the gorgeous island of Praslin Café des Arts Hotel is distinguished by its style and fine craftsmanship. Café des Arts is small, 5 bedroom hotel, an art gallery and a small al fresco dining room - it is certainly one of the best-kept secrets of Praslin Island.

Each bedroom at Café des Arts is very large and built using local materials of hardwoods, coconut and bamboo; each is equipped with shower, private verandah, king-size bed, wicker furniture, minibar, electric kettle and overhead ceiling fan. Christine, the owner, is not keen on air conditioning. The rooms are adjacent to one another and are situated in tropical gardens.

Breakfast and dinner are served in an idyllic garden setting adjacent to the beach overlooking the clear emerald waters of the Indian Ocean towards St.Pierre islet. Dinner, table d'hote (fixed menu) is an option.

For those seeking action, however, this is Cote d'Or with several full service hotels in the vicinity and also the village of Cote d'Or from where one can go diving, deep-sea fishing, snorkelling or take excursions to neighbouring islands.

The owner and manager of Café des Arts, Christine, is every bit an artist and hotelier - very much in tune with nature and business. Where the hotel needs to be clean - it is spotless; where nature is, she is allowed to grow and blossom but ... kept in check. This is a small gem of a hotel very much in tune with its surroundings, an idyllic Seychelles holiday, and it is consequently difficult to find vacant dates.
